Testimonials

I can't recommend North Toronto Veterinary Behaviour Specialty Clinic, Dr. Denenberg, and Lindsay highly enough. Our dog started exhibiting severe guarding behaviors around seemingly random objects—like the vacuum cleaner, door knobs, and masks—without any clear trigger. This escalated to the point where he bit us, breaking skin several times. We were desperate and didn't know where to turn after our regular vets couldn't offer an explanation. Thankfully, they referred us to this clinic.
Given our concerns for the safety of our newborn and our desire to keep our dog in our family, we were determined to find a solution. Dr. Denenberg and Lindsay were incredible. They used a thoughtful combination of medication and behavioural strategies that truly transformed his behaviour. It's been almost two years since our dog last showed any aggression, and he's now much calmer and less anxious.
We continue to attend follow-ups, and each visit brings new insights and improvements. The knowledge, care, and dedication from Dr. Denenberg and Lindsay have made a world of difference for us. We are profoundly grateful and couldn't be happier with the results.

Thank you Dr. Denenberg and Lindsay Johnston. When we had our first session with you we were not sure if Pepper could be saved. She was extremely aggressive to dogs and people but also to myself and our family. Within a few weeks we started seeing improvement with the initial exercises you provided and the help you gave us.
You were always there if we had questions or concerns and supported us through helping Pepper with her anxiety and aggression. I am happy to say that almost 2 years in Pepper is doing so much better. She is a very affectionate to myself and our family and acts like a normal dog. Although we have moments where she reacts to strangers due to her anxiety I am no longer afraid that I will not be able to control her. All of the exercises, desensitization training has helped immensely.
We know Pepper will never be a "normal" dog but that doesn't matter as long as we can control her anxiety so that she can have a happy healthy life. We thank you all so much for all your help and support!

North Toronto Veterinary Behaviour Specialty Clinic saved my cat when I was losing hope. I struggled for, I don't even know how long, trying different medications, specialists, running all the tests, to figure out why my cat was self-mutilating, and I wasn't sure we were going to get him to a place where he could live with his condition. It took time, and patience, but I trusted the process and followed the plan set out by Dr Denenberg and Lindsay and happy to report today he's a happy cat.
He still has his moments, and his condition is lifelong but I'm happy with where we've gotten in managing his condition. The team has also been there for me to help and provide guidance in between appointments when he's had little relapses or needed some extra care. They communicate well with his vet and I feel my special guy has a solid medical team to help him. Thank you to the team!

My dog Lily and I have been seeing Dr. Denenberg and Lindsay for about two years now. Lily was very reactive to strange dogs. She would growl and lunge at them constantly if she saw a dog across the street or close by. At home, Lily would pace and pant. She displayed anxiety in the house and outside. She would run to the window and bark excessively at any noise or movement outside the house.
Also, it was difficult to have people over at our house because Lily would constantly be anxious and on guard. Now, Lily is slowly accepting visitors to the house and actually letting some of them pet her.
Since seeing Dr. Denenberg. Lily has become a changed dog. She is more calm at home, sleeps through the night, and is able to direct her attention to me (not focus or fixate on other dogs) when we are walking and she reacts much less frequently. Being on medication and the techniques that Lindsay and Dr. Danenberg have taught us have helped Lily immensely. Lily is still a work in progress, but she is much more manageable.
We are very grateful for all that Dr.Denenberg and Lindsay have done for us.

Charlotte had been considered for euthanasia at a local shelter and not only did the North Toronto Veterinary Behaviour Specialty Clinic confirm that was not warranted for Charlotte, but they also helped her and directed us on how to help her recover. And she has - a life saved!

As a family, we have been coming to see Dr. Sagi and his staff to assist us in how to collectively make our wonderful dog healthy at home, given his reactive nature. They have taught us so much and can relate to everything we explain. Truly are animal lovers who will care about your pet so much, and they all listen so well. Tremendous team and couldn't be happier having them as a resource to our family.
